Wrapping it all up – Part 2 – Great Welcome What a welcome  in Düsseldorf on Thursday! A long journey has come full circle after landing in Munich and the short hop to Düsseldorf. And nobody had given me a warning on the reception I was about to receive from my family! My parents, my sister and my wife gave me a great homecoming surprise. Dad  had even created a huge banner with a picture of when I went around the first corner in Vancouver, a map showing my itinerary and a picture of me at the James River at Williamsburg. They weren't going to let me go to bed any time soon - which was good ...

I wonder what the other passengers were thinking!

Having a great family is wonderful ...

What a welcome!

So they missed me - but I had the time of my life, nevertheless!

  1. Great last journal page! Tremendous to see your family welcome. Small part of me happy to see my photo made it to a banner in a German airport! The trip is an achievement you can be proud of and ‚dine out‘ on for a long time – it is compulsory 🙂

    • Hi Dave, yep, it is done – and a large part of me is sad to see it fade … You know all about that from your own experience! But a warm welcome reminds me that there are people over here who might be glad to have me back. So I’ll now deal with the „arriving“ process piece by piece.
The pic my Dad chose is not the best one from the series you took but the last one before going off around the corner and „vanishing“. Thanks for your implied „permission to use it“ 🙂
