Tramuntana - Mountain Range Hiking on Mallorca ... From March 22 to March 28 we spent a wonderful week on the quite demanding trails in the Tramuntana mountains. Due to the rocky nature of the land, the island dwellers had to make their land arable by shifting millions of stones, thereby creating the famous Pedra de Sec (Drywall) trails over many centuries - an enormous achievement. 80 kms took us along the whole of the mountain range from Banyalbufar in the south to Pollenca in the North. On our second day we met two really enjoyable hiking companions (Hi Jule and Tobi!) who accompanied us from  Esporles  via Valldemossa  to Deìa, which we didn't reach before darkness fell. We ended in Pollenca and Port de Pollenca on the Mediterranean Sea from where we took the bus to the mundane city of Palma de Mallorca. Any preconceived ideas of what holidays in Mallorca are usually about? Well, think again! '' '' '' This wonderful picture is courtesy of Tobias Leeger.
